Considered as one of the best artist of the 20th century, Dali extravagant and provocative, lets after his death in 1989, fascinating paintings like Melting Watch, sculptures as well as illustrations at Espace Dali Paris in Paris Montmartre. He also tried himself in design, fashion and in the sculpture in cristal slurry in collaboration with Daum during 20 years.
The spanish artist meets Breton, Ernst, Magritte and Eluard in Paris after being expulsed of the Beaux-Arts of Madrid. He falls in love with Gala, Paul Eluard’s wife, who became his main source of inspiration. The couple leaves Paris to live in New-York during the second World War. When they came back to Europe, Dali inaugurates the Dali Museum in Figueras, his home town, in Spain, followed by a plethora of retrospectives mainly in Paris and London.
Espace Dali has the biggest collection of Dali’s masterpieces in France. The museum is located in Paris Montmartre, one of the most iconic area of Paris where Dali and his wife, Gala have lived for years.
